The Makariou Campus is a temporary satellite Campus (an extension of the Frederick University Department of Architecture) in the heart of Nicosia. It is intended, through a series of projects and events, to transfer the processes of what constitutes an architecture / design education to Makariou Street in the city center and open them up to the public for view and participation, with the goal of creating an interactive environment of learning, creativity and production. All of the actions taking place are based on the idea of bringing the public closer to the education process of a design school and at the same time to develop the influence of the city center life and the communication with the public to the students.
